How to Enable Search Description in Blogger

When you search any term in search engine, you get the results as the links of different sites. Every result has a small text below the link. This small blurb is known as the meta search description. Some sites do not write the search description, so the text below the result doesn’t appear as the description. Blogger has a feature to write the blurb about the site or article posted.

Why should you enable Search Description ?

The search description is like your small ad of your site or article after the catchy title. People  decide to visit site which has the information which they were searching. Search engine description with the complete information about the particular article with search engine optimization keywords can increase the click through rate.

As you can see in the screenshot above, when we click top benefits of hashtags, the first link appears is my recent article – 4 top benefits of inserting Hashtags. The words, hashtags and benefits are highlighted as they are keywords in the search text. People are more likely to read the description and hence click the link.

Step by  Step Guide to Enable Search Description in Blogger

You can add search description in every post.

But first you have to enable the option of the search description to work.

1.Log in to Go to blogger draft.

2.Click on Settings.

3.Click Search Preferences.

You will see the option – Enable search description. Click on Yes.

4.Write compelling description about your site in maximum 150 characters.

5.Save the changes.

6.Now click on the Posts.

7.Start new post or edit previous one.

8.On the right side you will see the post settings.

9.Click on the search description option in the post settings.

Last step:

Write a short description of your article including the focus keyword. It gets saved automatically.

Note: If you write search description for  previous posts they may not appear immediately in the search results. Change may take some time depending on Google crawlers.

Do share your blog’s search result with and without the search description.

How to Pin Tweets to Twitter Profile Page

Twitter allows highlight your tweets by pinning them on the top of your profile page. Pinned tweets increase the impact of twitter timeline of the user.Let’s learn more about it.

What is Pin Tweets to Profile page Feature?

A pinned post is highlighted on the top of your profile page until you remove it. 

What is meaning of Unpin a Tweet?

A pinned tweet can be removed from the timeline which is called as unpinning of the tweet.

Here are the steps to pin a tweet.


  1. Sign in to your Twitter Account.
  2. Go to your profile page.
  3. Click on More options after Favoriteoption. You will see a drop down menu, click on Pin to Your Profile Page
  4. Confirm by the action clicking the Pin Button.

How to Unpin a Tweet from Twitter Profile Page:

  • Click on More options and Unpin the tweet.
  • Once you pin a new tweet the earlier pinned tweet gets removed automatically. Twitter asks before removing the previous tweet.

  1. Showcase your achievement by pinning it.

Now, you can add the new Contact form gadget introduced by the Blogger platform very easily on your blog so that your visitors can reach you easily. For this, you don’t need to learn the complex codes or don’t even need to register any third party. The contact form is very basic, with the three fields: Name, E-mail, and Message. You can place this widget on the sidebar.

When a visitor leaves a message through this contact form, the message reaches directly to your inbox, and you can reply them directly.

Follow these simple steps to insert contact form gadget to your blog:

1. Log in to your blogger account.

2. Click Layout tab.

3. Click Add a Widget.

4. Click on More Gadget tab, below the basic gadgets’ tab.

9. You can send test message to check if the form is working properly, though it is so easy            that you won’t face any problem.

How to Embed Facebook Posts in Websites and Blogs

Facebook is not just a Social Networking site, but has become a big knowledge hub too. Earlier people used to promote links of websites and blogs on Facebook, but now due to highly increased use of Facebook for sharing knowledge, opinions and events sharing of Facebook posts on websites is also becoming important. The biggest socialization site is used by government officials, celebrities, public figures, writers, businesses. Their official announcements and opinions are being shared directly on Status updates. So, for the purpose of analysis, discussions, learning, reactions it has become important to share  Facebook posts on websites too. For the authenticity of the post we can embed Facebook posts onto our website or blog very easily.

Steps to Embed Facebook Posts:  

  1. Go to the Facebook post you want to embed on your website.
  2. Click on the icon which is on the top right hand corner of the post.
  3. A drop down list of options will appear, click on the ‘Embed post’.
  4. After clicking, the code will appear, just copy the code.
  5. Paste it on the website, where you want to embed the post.

If you have tried to embed posts, you might have noticed, only some posts have ‘Embed Post’ option and not all. The reason is Facebook allows sharing the posts which are shared as ‘public’. For  personal profiles’posts , depending on the settings, one can share the posts with only friends, or friends of friends or the user can keep the post public. So if the posts are not public, Embed posts option will not appear on the personal profiles. 

Embedded Post:

You can embed posts by others also. If you or the user whose post you have shared, changed the privacy settings from public to limited visibility, the post will not be visible on the website. Instead, a message will be displayed saying, ‘embedded post is no longer available.’
Please note, the user whose posts are embedded won’t be notified by Facebook.

How to Add Google Plus Profile as Author Profile in Blogger Blog Posts

Blogging is the most essential tool of marketing, promoting your product online and tool to share the latest updates, news about your product. If you are using your blog on blogger platform you might have faced a problem in showing the author’s bio or profile below every blog post. Many professional websites have nice and precise Author’s bio at the end of every post. You must be wandering how they add it. If you add some code to blogger blog template, you can add author’s profile but that will be a bit difficult for those who are not tech savvy. 

Now it’s become simplest ever to add professional Author’s bio in Blogger. What you need is just to join Google plus and create your profile there. Your G+ profile will be visible below every blog post in blogger blog once you enable it.

Let’s see a step by step guide to enable Author’s bio on blogger blog. 

Add Google Plus Profile as Author’s Profile in Blogger Blog Posts :

  1. Join G+ if you are not joined already with the same email Id by which you have created blogger blog. 
  2. Create professional profile for G+. 
  3. Go to About Section –> Introduction –> Write/ Edit the bio here which you wish to see on blogger post. 
  4. Now, go to Blogger Dashboard.
  5. Select Layout.
  6. Edit Blog Posts Section
  7. Check the box of Show Author Profile Below Post as shown in the screenshot.
  8. Save the settings and check your blog.
